Privacy Policy

Last updated July 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Social Catnip LLC (“Social Catnip,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit socialcatnip.com (the “Site”) or contact us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a contact form, request a proposal, subscribe to our newsletter, or email us, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, company, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical data when you visit, including browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps. Your IP address is processed by our hosting provider and by the third-party analytics services described below; our own analytics does not store it.

How you found us. When you arrive from a link that carries campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and similar) or an advertising click identifier (such as gclid from Google Ads or fbclid from Meta), we record those values so we can tell which of our marketing actually works.

How we use information

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the services or information you request.
  • To send you our newsletter or updates, where you have asked to receive them.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services.
  • To understand how the Site is used and to measure the performance of our content and campaigns.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site and to understand traffic. This includes analytics and tag-management services such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which set their own cookies and process data under their own policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the Site function.

Our own first-party analytics

We also run our own analytics on our own servers. We built it so we are not dependent on a third party to understand our own website, and so this data is not shared with an advertising platform. It is worth being specific about what that involves.

An identifier for your browser. We create a random identifier and store it in a first-party cookie named sc_vid (and mirror it in your browser’s local storage) for up to one year. It is a random value, not your name or email, and it is not shared with anyone else or used to track you on other websites.

What we measure. Which pages you view and when, how long you are actively reading a page, how far down a page you scroll, the site that referred you, the campaign and click identifiers described above, a coarse device category (mobile, tablet or desktop), and deliberate actions such as clicking a call-to-action button, downloading a file, or starting a form.

What we deliberately do not collect. Our own analytics does not store your IP address or your full browser user-agent string, does not record your keystrokes or the contents of forms you do not submit, and does not follow you to other websites.

If you contact us. When you submit a form or book a call, we link the browsing history associated with that identifier to the details you provide. That means we can see which campaign brought you to us and which pages you read before getting in touch. We also calculate an internal engagement score from that activity, which we use to prioritise which enquiries to respond to first. It is a scheduling aid for a small team, not an automated decision about you, and it never determines whether you receive a service, what you are charged, or the terms you are offered.

How long we keep it. Detailed page-level records are deleted after twelve months. We keep summary totals and the campaign that first brought you, so our historic reporting stays accurate.

Your choice. You can turn this off for this browser at any time using the control below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out automatically, without you needing to do anything. To have data we have already collected erased, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who help us run the Site and our business (for example hosting, analytics, email, and CRM providers), under obligations to protect your data.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Social Catnip, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or anonymize it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing messages. You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message, or contact us using the details below to make a request. We will respond consistent with applicable law, including the GDPR and the CCPA where they apply.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We are based in the United States, and the Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
